Secufire – Middle, Tennessee is looking for a Fire Suppression & Alarm Service Technician.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Candidate MUST have a state extinguisher license and back-flow test certification that is valid and active. Individuals who do not posses these credentials are not encouraged to apply.
· Manage the Service and inspection of fire sprinkler, alarm and extinguishing systems in commercial, industrial, and residential applications.
· Candidate must have the ability to work independently while troubleshooting and repairing issues on fire sprinkler, alarm and extinguishing systems.
· Perform fire sprinkler system tests and inspections according to code.
· Perform fire extinguisher and kitchen hood system tests and inspections according to code.
· Perform fire pump tests, according to code.
· Perform fire alarm system tests and inspections according to code.
· Complete all documentation in a detail-oriented fashion so that any defects can be clearly communicated to the customer and service manager.
· Operate job site equipment, including company vehicles, scissor and boom lifts, and power tools while adhering to all safety procedures for the specific equipment in use.
· Adhere to the company safety policy and use PPE when required.
· Respond to after-hour emergency calls on a rotating schedule.
· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
· Flexible scheduling, including occasional travel, is required.
Education / Qualifications:
· Must have one or more years of experience with commercial and/or residential systems, including wet/dry sprinkler systems, backflow preventers, fire pumps, etc.
· Must have one or more years of experience servicing and inspecting fire extinguishers and kitchen hoods.
· Knowledge of NFPA Standards Preferred
· Experience with fire sprinkler and fire pump systems, including installation and maintenance of systems.
· Understand the fundamentals and differences between wet, dry, pre-action and deluge fire suppression systems.
· Understand the fundamentals on the service and repair of air compressors and fire pumps is a plus.
· Electrical and mechanical background preferred.
· Ability to troubleshoot problems and implement timely solutions.
· Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.
· Must have reliable transportation to and from Job location.
· Must be able to display knowledge of practices and principles of building fire safety.
· Must be able to display knowledge of code related to the job function.
· Must be able to understand and follow oral and written directions.
· Must be able to maintain accurate records and reports.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
· The candidate is required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
