This position assists in financial analysis and projections, budget management, and fiscal resource management. The budgets monitored by this position include 117 e&g and carry-forward chartfields estimated at $14,307,010, fifty-seven Foundation funds estimated $1,071,600, and fifteen auxiliary funds, estimated at $697,654. This position serves as the primary reporter and reconciler for all St. Pete CAS chartfields. This position monitors St. Pete CAS travel and procurement workflow processed by BFSS, ensuring correct fund sources are used. This position tracks balance sheet transactions related to DSO pcard purchases and gift card balances.
Responsibilities include:
Monitors and analyzes budget and accounting data to ensure compliance with statutes, regulations, and accounting principles, and keeps manager informed regarding the financial and budget status of all departments. Handles complex issues and problems.
Prepares monthly reconciliation statements for college e&g, auxiliary, foundation, and research support funds. Prepares journal entry submissions. Provides balance updates and answers inquiries from accountable officers.
Monitors, reconciles, and forecasts auxiliary and EBA revenue and expense. Assists faculty with EBA business plans. Works with lab managers to update student course fee requests. Works with CAS Dean's Office analysts to submit consolidated course fee requests and cross-campus revenue corrections. Monitors and submits corrections for Banner course fee detail codes.
Monitors St. Petersburg CAS travel and procurement activity using BFSS Jira tickets and PowerBI reports. Reviews requests to ensure fund source appropriateness and availability. Incorporates data into expense projection reports.
Oversees expense requests for St. Petersburg CAS Foundation funds. Provides balance updates and answers inquiries from fund administrators and faculty with foundation awards. Ensures compliance with USF Foundation policy and procedures. Reconciles DSO funds and submits expense reimbursements in a timely manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or other field directly related to the position's specific responsibilities and 2-4 years of fiscal related work experience; or a Bachelor's degree in no specific required field and three years of fiscal related work experience; or five years fiscal related work experience.
Preferred requirements: Accounting or business management education, experience in higher education fiscal systems. Prefer previous experience with Adobe Acrobat, Peoplesoft, and USF-Specific travel and procurement functions in Power BI, Archivum, Bull Marketplace, and FAST.
