This position will work remotely with the expectation of local travel for site visits with our community partners. Additionally, some travel for statewide meetings every quarter, and annual staff events are held in Colorado or California.
Candidates for this role must reside in the Denver-Metro area in Colorado. We are not considering any candidates who are out of state or too far from the Denver-Metro area.
COMPANY SUMMARY
The Latino Coalition for Community Leadership (LCCL) is a nonprofit organization that serves as an intermediary to build the capacity of smaller nonprofits, assists in managing grant programs, fosters collective impact, and develops working relationships among funders, government, and community-based nonprofit sectors. The LCCL provides capacity-building services to grassroots organizations that are uniquely skilled in meeting their community needs with cultural sensitivity, understanding, and competence. We are a small, dedicated team of professionals who operate in a decentralized structure. There is no main reporting office; each position works from home or a designated facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position is a key member of the Fiscal Team and reports to the Fiscal Support Supervisor. It will be integral in monitoring and reporting sub-grant spending and responding to community partners' training needs. This position will contribute to the development of a strong team to support the LCCL’s goals. It will require travel to Community Partner sites and, statewide meetings every quarter, and annual staff events held in Colorado or California.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting and Grant Management:
- Review and reconcile Community Partner requests for reimbursements and maintain accurate accounting files.
- Manage financial reporting for Community Partners and provide support for the grant administration process
- Contribute to grant-level monthly budget status and progress reports
- Review grant documentation and assist in compliance with State, Federal, and contractual regulations and requirements, specifically about sub-grants to our Community Partners
- Participate in the fiscal review process for Community Partners
- Perform ongoing oversight of Community Partner billing, including budget and participant spending analysis.
- Assist with general maintenance of Community Partner fiscal files and records, including the creation of budget templates, cost allocation worksheets, and other related reporting.
Financial Reporting and Training:
- Review partner financial reporting for accuracy and completeness.
- Review partner budgets and policy documents and apply knowledge to other fiscal processes.
- Review and assist with records provided to federal or state representatives and auditors.
- Understand and coach on LCCL fiscal standards and provide technical assistance to CPs on LCCL Fiscal Systems.
- Assess the quality of documentation or tracking, make recommendations and remediate training.
- Complete regular in-person and/or virtual site visits with each CP
- Coach partner fiscal staff according to identified needs, responding to submission errors and problem-solving internal control and calculation issues.
- Advising partner staff on GAAP and “best practices” for non-profit entities
- Training and coaching new and existing community partners with varying skill levels in policy and compliance areas
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business-related field, or equivalent working experience
- 5+ years of increasingly responsible nonprofit accounting experience
- Reliable transportation for expected travel to local site visits and quarterly meetings
VALUED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Deep commitment to LCCL’s mission, culture, and community, especially in the areas of reentry and victims’ services.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in nonprofit financial and accounting management, including GAAP, business principles, and standard operating practices.
- Proficiency in managing Federal grants (including Uniform Guidance) and State, County, and City contracts (preferred).
- Proven ability to deliver Technical Assistance to diverse audiences with varying levels of financial literacy.
- High attention to detail, including the ability to identify and trace errors in large spreadsheets or financial models.
- Skilled at assessing and implementing processes—knowing when to improve, introduce, or maintain existing workflows.
- Excellent task prioritization and time management across multiple projects and locations, with the flexibility to shift focus as needed.
- Reliable in meeting deadlines with accuracy, demonstrating initiative and accountability in daily responsibilities.
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strategic thinker with intellectual curiosity and the ability to see both the big picture and the fine details.

COMPENSATION
Your salary at the Latino Coalition for Community Leadership will be based on skills, education, and experience, as well as pay equity and internal equity of current team members. The mentioned range is the full hiring range, and hiring at the maximum is not typical to allow for future salary growth.
