Job Summary: The FLAG FOOTBALL Sports Coordinator is responsible for enhancing the i9 Sports Experience for players and coaches. The Flag Football Sports Coordinator must be an expert in flag football, able to interpret the rules, and clearly explain them to coaches and parents if needed. This role also involves keeping practices and games on schedule and ensuring a safe environment for the kids. Building relationships with players, parents, and coaches while delivering the instructional aspects of the i9 Sports Experience is key. Observing, assessing, and assisting our coaches is paramount. The position entails hands-on involvement with practices and games among all age groups and skill levels.
Responsibilities:
- Empower volunteer coaches to lead practice sessions focusing on fundamentals, skill development, and fun
- Teach & demonstrate core concepts including Sportsmanship values
- Supervise the overall operation of designated sport on game day
- Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
- Learn the rules to referee during the game if necessary
- Answer questions from volunteer coaches, parents, and/or referees
- Record the stats (win/loss, score, etc) for games
- Make sure the field is set up according to the guidelines (goal size, field dimensions, etc.)
- Setting up and breaking down the fields along with your peer sports coordinators, site manager, and other staff
- Ensure a safe environment for the kids
Qualifications:
- Must be 19 years or older
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Expertise in flag football with the ability to interpret and explain rules clearly
- Sport-specific coaching experience & knowledge
- Highly motivated self-starter; can work independently & solve problems
- Awareness & ability to take charge of any situation to ensure the safety of players
- Positive attitude and a strong ability to build professional relationships
- Ability to work Saturday schedule (for the full duration of the season, ~7-8 weeks)
- Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check
