The non-profit ISE Exchange Student Program is looking for a candidate in the Duluth area. The role involves facilitating cultural exchanges between incoming high school exchange students due to arrive in August, and carefully selected American host families.
As a Representative, your primary responsibility will be to recruit and screen volunteer host families. These families will open their homes and hearts to international high school students, offering them a unique opportunity to experience a school year homestay in America.
Our students:
ISE exchange students come from over 40 countries, are aged 14-18, and are thoroughly prepared to integrate into their volunteer host families while attending the nearest public high school for an academic school year. They bring their own spending money and have full medical insurance, and are ready to become a participating member of their American host family pitching in on everything from household chores to family discussions!
What Will Your Role Involve?
- Recruiting Volunteer Families: Your primary role is to find warm and caring families willing to host exchange students for a semester or a year. You'll get to connect with people in your community and share the joy of cultural exchange.
- Collaborating with Schools: You’ll work closely with local schools to ensure seamless enrollment and integration of students into the educational system.
- Ongoing Support: Serving as a liaison, you'll provide continuous monthly support to students and host families, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for everyone involved.
Flexible and Rewarding
This freelance role offers you the flexibility to set your own schedule and goals. You receive a per-placement stipend for each host family you recruit and match with an incoming August exchange student, as well as a bi-monthly supervision stipend. While the position involves working from home, it also includes engaging with the community in-person and leveraging social media to find host families.
