Floater Job Description
Job Summary: The Floater plays a vital role in ensuring seamless operations between the front office and clinical team at the Sleep and Airway Medicine Ceneters of Nevada. This hybrid position provides support in both administrative and patient care functions, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. The Floater is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, assisting with front desk operations, and supporting clinical procedures to enhance the patient experience.
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities
Front Office Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and ensure they feel welcomed in the center.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to patient inquiries.
- Assist patients with check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance and collecting payments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Assist with financial arrangements, patient education on services, and treatment options.
- Support marketing initiatives, including patient referral programs and community outreach.
- Prepare materials for the Morning Huddle and attend daily and monthly team meetings.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Welcome and seat patients, ensuring comfort and a positive experience.
- Take necessary records, including CBCT scans, digital impressions, and diagnostic photographs.
- Assist the doctor during exams and ensure smooth patient flow.
- Educate patients/parents on treatment plans, compliance tools, and myofunctional exercises.
- Sterilize instruments, manage clinical supply inventory, and ensure compliance with OSHA infection control policies.
- Maintain and manage emergency medical kits, oxygen tanks, and related equipment.
Collaboration & Compliance:
- Work closely with the doctor and team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Uphold OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members as needed.
- Assist with any other responsibilities as needed to support exceptional patient care.
- Attend and participate in off-site events, such as health fairs and community engagements.
- Float between front office and clinical duties as needed to support daily operations.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Dental or medical front office experience preferred.
- Radiography certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Dental Assistant certification (preferred or willingness to obtain).
- Proficiency with dental/medical software and Microsoft Office applications.
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is a plus.
