Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to advise on equipment, parts, and service for forestry equipment between Fabick and the customer.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintenance of good customer relations and a continued enhancement of the company image. Resolves customer complaints immediately. Provide internal and external customers with clear, concise and timely resolutions to technical questions and product issues. Treats customers fairly, friendly and courteously. Assures customer contact is made on a timely and routine basis and in a business-like manner.
Advises management of industry conditions, competitive activity, and any situations that could adversely impact the customer/dealer relationship. Established and maintains a current inventory of appropriate exchange parts and components to minimize customer's cost and downtime.
Complies with routine reporting requirements. Establishes, implements and maintains necessary reports, records, controls, procedures and training to assure compliance with customer, company, Caterpillar and industry requirements. Assists in scheduling shop and field repairs, assures proper use of equipment and tooling, ensures adherence to OSHA regulations. Strives to maintain a professional company image. Assures compliance with Caterpillar's 5-Star Contamination Control standards, assures they always represent the company's image favorable.
Provide technician training on the various components and systems. Prepare reports and maintain
records such as attendance rolls, and training activity details.
Responsible for a program of self-improvement and personal development. Attends scheduled training meetings, conferences and seminars. Utilizes available time to better understand the forestry industry and remains abreast of current developments in the industry. Strives to upgrade ability and knowledge in all phases of the parts operations.
Advises management of all pertinent information. Reports machine sales leads. Reports competitive and customer's parts and service activity. Reports potential service sales. Advises management of all other pertinent information. Ensures a high level of internal communication.
Assist technicians on assignments through the repair process to ensure timely, cost effective and quality repairs are completed.
Travel to customer job sites or service shops as needed to troubleshoot and advise on technical
issues.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school education or GED equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing or related business field preferred.
- 1-3 years sales experience preferably in concrete paving industry required
- Ability to work without supervision
- Strong planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic computer skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and other business software applications is required.
- The ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality is required.
Physical Requirements:
In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability to travel >50% in a vehicle sitting/driving for long periods of time.
