Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety protocols, and effective materials handling practices.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Perform order picking using RF scanners to ensure accuracy in shipping and receiving processes.
- Assist in the organization of inventory within the warehouse, adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with warehouse management to optimize workflow and maintain an organized work environment.
- Support heavy lifting tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Participate in training sessions for new equipment or processes as required.
Experience
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution or similar environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including forklifts and cranes.
- Experience with materials handling and knowledge of warehouse management systems.
- Background in shipping & receiving processes is advantageous.
- Prior experience as a warehouse supervisor or in a leadership role is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance is beneficial.
