The Forklift Operator is a member of the EDCO Production team who is responsible for ensuring metal is available for production lines to run smoothly and maximize efficiency. Success is defined by the individual’s ability to fulfill material needs in a timely and safe manner.

Hours
- Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read production schedules, prioritize and determine product needed for various production lines.
- Observe and monitor production operations and equipment and proactively respond to ensure efficient production flow.
- Operate forklift to move coil quickly and safely from inventory to production lines to minimize downtime.
- Move pallets of finished goods from production machine to loading dock staging area to maintain smooth production flow.
- Maintain organized inventory of coils.
- Provide support in production as requested or needed such as run basic roll-forming machines or package material as needed.

- Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Candidate will be required to pass our internal Forklift certification.
- Display willingness to learn, be internally and externally customer focused, look for ways to improve process through innovation, have a focus for quality and passion for excellence and possess integrity.
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
- A minimum of 1-2 years of forklift experience within a manufacturing environment ideal
Working Conditions
Ability to withstand continuous sitting. Occasional pushing, pulling, bending and/or stooping; and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. good vision and ability to read work instructions and production orders. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and light vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employee could be exposed to various weather conditions.
