The FOH Manager/Team Member Responsibilities:
- Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise FOH cafe staff
- Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours
- Oversee day-to-day cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and equipment maintenance
- Monitor food quality and presentation to uphold our standards of excellence
- Implement and enforce hygiene and safety regulations to ensure compliance with health codes
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally
- Ensure an efficient delivery system between 3rd party vendors, POS ordering, kitchen printing, packaging orders and send off to customer/delivery driver
- Train staff on customer service best practices and empower them to exceed customer expectations
- Solicit feedback from customers and use it to make improvements in service and offerings
- Daily reconciling daily reports/cash handling
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development among staff to ensure they remain engaged and motivated
Cashier: The Cashier will greet all customers as they arrive and prepare to ensure guest satisfaction and experience as bulleted below.
- Provides a pleasant and efficient customer-focused experience.
- Registers meal orders on a cash register or inputs orders on a computerized device via a point of sale (POS) platform by scanning items, and itemizing and totaling customer purchases.
- Resolves customer issues and answers questions about offerings and purchasing processes.
- Processes return transactions.
- Contributes to inventory management.
- Collects payments by accepting cash, checks, or charge payments and makes change for customers.
- Verifies credit acceptance and operates credit card authorization systems.
- Balances the cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of work shifts by following checkout procedures.
- Provides pricing information to customers.
- Maintains a clean and orderly workstation.
- Handles To-Go orders over the phone and inputs into the system
Expeditor: The team member will check for ticket times in a timely manner to ensure food gets to customer quickly.
- Communicate orders and information between the front of house and back of house
- Ensure food is ready in timely manner or to communicate otherwise to cashier if there are issues in the kitchen that could affect the customer experience.
- Time stamping incoming orders to ensure timeliness
- Make sure food is correctly positioned and beautifully presented per the company standard before arriving to the guest
- Restocks all plates, glassware and smallwares as needed
- Transfer important information to the correct person should a guest need something.
- Ensure the kitchen area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary area.
- Package delivery and togo items properly
- Support cashier if they are working with a customer when phone rings, if customer needs something, etc.
Bussing: The team member will ensure a clean environment for guests
- Clean tables as they become available
- Communicate with the correct department if customer needs something from the kitchen, etc.
- Ensure restrooms are clean and stocked
- Ensure the floors remain clean and food/miscellaneous items are picked up, cleaned off the floor
- Set up coffee station and make sure it is stocked throughout the day.
- Greet customers as they sit and depart with a genuine generosity.
Qualifications/Skills for FOH Manager/ TM:
Required:
- Two years minimum experience in a cafe or restaurant
- Basic math skills
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills with guests and team members
- Multi-tasking abilities
- Understand health, sanitation and safety in the restaurant environment
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume work environment.
- Ability to work together and support others in a team environment.
- Cash-handling experience
- Friendly, positive and can-do attitude for yourself and others
- Have the ability to lift and carry 35-50 lbs on a regular basis
- Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Must be 18 years old or older
Preferred:
- Food Handler’s Card, Tips Certifications are a plus
