Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Front Office Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient service, managing administrative tasks, getting medical authorizations, and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. This position requires familiarity with medical terminology and a strong ability to communicate effectively with both patients and healthcare professionals.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing calls to appropriate staff members.
- Process insurance information and verify patient eligibility for services.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized front office area.
- Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate patient flow within the clinic.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems for data entry and retrieval.
- Provide support in various departments as needed, including Dermatology, Outpatient services, Geriatrics, Medical-surgical, OR, and Emergency medicine.
- Take Vital Signs
- Getting Medical Authorizations by fax, online, and phone.
- Collect Copays
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to the medical field and emergency medicine is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service.
- Proficient in using office systems and EHR software.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Authorization Experience.
