Position Overview:
We are seeking a FSQA Supervisor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will help develop and oversee the food safety regulations, policies, and procedures. You will be involved in implementing and enforcing food safety standards, policies, and programs including HACCP, SQF, regulatory audits, food safety training programs, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), product inspections, and standardized work instructions.

Duties/Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The duties listed below are representative of the essential functions, qualifications, physical demands, and the work environment encountered in this position.

  • Help develop and provide training for food safety and quality requirements
  • Help develop and maintain documentation such as SOP’s, as well as maintenance of manuals, policies and procedures as relate to any food safety concerns
  • Conduct facility food safety audits as well as help manage third party audits
  • Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all products coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards in addition to quality standards
  • Maintaining and managing the food safety security plan
  • Help to update existing food safety procedures and documentation to keep up with changing requirements
  • Work closely with Production Manager and FSQA manager on any food safety or quality assurance issues
  • Oversee proper maintenance and sanitation of all facility to comply with food safety requirements
  • Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are always followed and documented correctly
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Quality Management, Food Science, or another related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of food manufacturing
  • Minimum of two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of food safety experience, with experience in HACCP, USDA, or FDA.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s and GAP’s
  • Previous experience with SQF, Primus, BRC, and/or USDA audits
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Food regulations
  • Knowledge of regulatory and quality system requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee is regularly required to sit; use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and environments both hot and cold.

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.

  • The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example: two arms, two legs or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down.
  • The ability to time movements in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object.
  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move 10 to 25 pounds and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary is $70,000 to $75,000 DOE
