We are looking for an (Mid-Career) Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage our company's financial transactions and records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, official training/certification in bookkeeping or a related field, and experience in supporting retail operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the aspects of our financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries, including reconciliations and adjustments.
Accounts Payable: Process and manage invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.
Accounts Receivable: Oversee the billing process, track receivables, and ensure timely collection of payments.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with company records and resolve discrepancies.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
Expense Tracking: Monitor and categorize expenses, providing insights to management on cost control and budget adherence.
Tax Compliance: Assist with preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Audit Support: Prepare documentation and support internal and external audits.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in bookkeeping, with at least 2 years in a retail environment preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online) and Microsoft 365 Suite (Excel, Word).
Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial data entry and reporting.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, staff, and management and external accounting officials.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address financial issues and discrepancies.
