Job Overview
Christian Care in Rock island is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for various programs and projects. This role requires a strong understanding of program development, budgeting, and technical writing, as well as the ability to effectively communicate our organization’s mission and goals to potential funders. This position will also assist the Operations Manager with event planning and marketing.
Duties
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with the organization’s objectives.
- Write compelling grant proposals that clearly articulate project goals, objectives, and expected outcomes.
- Develop and manage budgets for grant proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project needs.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposal development.
- Prepare financial reports and documentation required by funders.
- Maintain organized records of all submitted proposals and their outcomes in databases.
- Proofread and edit proposals to ensure clarity, coherence, and adherence to funder guidelines.
- Assist in contract management related to awarded grants, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
- Support fundraising efforts by providing written materials that enhance donor engagement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in grant proposal writing with a successful track record of securing funding.
- Strong skills in program development, financial report writing, budgeting, and technical writing.
- Familiarity with databases for tracking grant submissions and outcomes.
- Excellent proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly.
- A passion for the mission of the organization and a commitment to making a positive impact through effective grant writing.
