Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in securing funding for our organization by crafting compelling grant proposals and managing the grant writing process. This position requires a strong understanding of fundraising strategies, excellent writing skills, and the ability to conduct thorough research to identify potential funding opportunities.
Duties
- Write and develop grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization's mission, goals, and funding needs.
- Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities and funding sources aligned with the organization's objectives.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposals, including project budgets and timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of grant applications, deadlines, and reporting requirements using databases such as Raiser Edge.
- Assist in budgeting for grant proposals to ensure financial viability and compliance with funder guidelines.
- Review and edit proposals for clarity, coherence, and technical accuracy before submission.
- Monitor and report on the progress of submitted grants, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in grant writing and fundraising.
Experience
- Proven experience in grant proposal writing with a successful track record of securing funding.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Familiarity with fundraising strategies and techniques, including budgeting for grants.
- Experience using databases for tracking grants and fundraising efforts is preferred.
- Excellent research skills to identify relevant funding opportunities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
