Graphic File Prep. Designer
Illumiletter Wholesale Signs is seeking a graphic file prep. designer to work with our creative, fast-paced, collaborative team. This role will involve the review and preparing of all artwork files provided from our customers design files as part of the file preparation process. This individual will work through a process from initial artwork review, to proof generation (with collaborative confirmation from the whole project processing team), to the proper hand-off for further production.
Role and Responsibilities
- Analyze submitted artwork for proper quality, content, color, and layout - making adjustments as needed to optimize for production process
- Generate proofs of submitted artwork, making further adjustments & communicating as needed on changes
- Manage file naming and organization along with proper and logical folder setup to keep artwork available for ease of access
- Compile all items needed to complete production
- Operate the assigned machine in accordance with standard procedures and quality standards. Machines may include several different product marking tools
- Stage items for the next step of production or for delivery
- Complete order reports correctly
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-organized work area.
- Continually work to increase knowledge of Company operations and our production processes.
- Proactively look for new ways to contribute and solve problems
Preferred Position Requirements
- Proficiency in: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), PowerPoint, Word and Excel preferred
- An understanding of production considerations including direct relationship between digital prep file and final print
- An attention to detail and an understanding of project organization
- Demonstrated ability to follow direction consistently in order to complete projects with repeatability
- A strong understanding of layer structure, file output and compression, image optimization and file formats associated with graphic software
- Must be driven, self-motivated and high energy
- Must be well organized
- Enthusiastic spirit and willingness to learn and grow.
SAFETY & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to effectively distinguish different colors
- Depending on the activity and per manufactures’ safety standards and company rules, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn when required. PPE may include but is not limited to the following: goggles, masks, gloves and protective belts
- The position may require significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant finger dexterity.
- Lifting objects up to 50 lbs. unassisted and moving objects over 50 lbs. with assistance is required.
