We’re looking for a dynamic Graphics and Desktop Publishing Lead to join our team—someone who thrives in a multidimensional role and is excited to grow with us.
The Graphics and Desktop Publishing Lead will provide strong creative thinking, solid design skills to support ICR program and business development efforts, as well as support to programs.
As the Graphics and Desktop Publishing Lead, you will serve as the creative cornerstone of our proposal and business development efforts. This role prioritizes graphic design and visual storytelling, with hands-on execution across a range of digital tools and platforms. You’ll lead the design and production of visually compelling content that helps win business and elevates our brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of graphics for proposals, presentations, and digital assets using tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Premiere (and eventually Redshift, Cinema 4D)
- Own desktop publishing efforts from layout to final delivery, ensuring brand alignment and high production standards working with capture and proposal team.
- Collaborate closely with proposal managers, subject matter experts, and BD teams to visually translate technical content
- Develop and refine content using Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Word, and Publisher, ensuring clarity, consistency, and professional polish
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Support the development of reusable design templates and asset libraries
- Provide mentorship or direction to junior designers, as needed
- Execute creative year-long strategies, short-term campaigns, and ad hoc marketing elements to drive engagement and achieve established success metrics.
- Design and execute marketing and promotional pieces, including webpages, direct response landing pages, digital ads, social graphics, infographics, brochures, event graphics, white papers, case studies, video, collateral materials, field reports, and any internal or external presentations.
- Communicate visual designs, motion designs, and storyboards to team.
- Meaningfully contribute in brainstorms to build creative ideas.
- Provide status updates regularly on projects.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of creative platforms and an appetite to learn new platforms, technologies, and other trending topics that are related to the creative space.
- Collaborate with team members from creative, social, communications, strategy/planning, product, and analytics to produce smart and powerful work.
- Responsible for managing own workload and timelines.
- Strong ability to focus and prioritize workload and resources across a dynamic mix of projects and timelines.
Required
- BS/BA Degree (Multimedia, Advertising, Marketing or Fine Arts concentration preferred).
- Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility - U.S. Citizenship required
- 5+ years of experience in graphic design and/or desktop publishing, ideally within the government contracting or proposal development space
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite—especially PowerPoint, Word and Visio.
- Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout principles, typography, and branding
- Experience supporting proposal development (e.g., Federal RFPs/RFIs) highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good presentation skills and good communication abilities that can be used to sell ideas.
- Solid understanding of digital and printing processes.
Preferred
- Experienced with strategic brainstorming and campaign development.
- Demonstrated ability to convey technical information into simple yet powerful design(s).
- Great design, typography, and layout skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, with good time management skills.
- Ability to be flexible within the creative process.
- Ability to take direction yet still maintain intuition and brand aesthetic.
- Takes initiative — doesn’t wait to be told what or how to do something.
Salary range: $110,000 - $135,000 (based on meeting requirements)
