Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Addiction Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction medicine and behavioral therapy, with the ability to provide support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role requires excellent crisis management skills and a commitment to helping clients achieve recovery through various therapeutic methods, including group therapy and individual counseling.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to identify their needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions focused on addiction recovery, coping strategies, and life skills.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to support clients in acute distress or crisis situations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for clients, including referrals for additional services as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and any changes in behavior or condition using appropriate coding systems such as ICD-9.
- Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and available resources within the community.
- Implement evidence-based practices in behavioral therapy and PTSD care to address underlying issues related to addiction.
Requirements
- Must be a ADT,CSC or CAC
- Experience in home community care settings is a plus.
- Proficiency in coding systems such as ICD-9 is preferred.
- Strong understanding of crisis management and intervention strategies.
- Ability to facilitate group therapy sessions effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to client interactions.
- Knowledge of addiction medicine principles and best practices in treatment.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
