The HCM Product Quality Analyst is responsible for the discovery, analysis and testing in the Company’s Human Capital Management (HCM) platforms in alignment with the organization’s mission and business objectives. Partnering closely with HR, IT, and cross-functional teams, this role gathers and document comprehensive business requirements to drive system enhancements. The HR Tech Product Quality Analyst develops and maintains detailed test documentation, coordinates all phases of testing, and manages issue tracking to facilitate smooth deployments. This role is also responsible for developing the business continuity and disaster recovery plans for all HCM systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Lead discovery, analysis, and testing initiatives for HCM tools including but not limited to UKG and Workday solutions across key modules including HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Reporting, Recruiting, Talent Management, and Absence.
Define and manage testing objectives, timelines, test data needs, and success criteria across functional and regression testing cycles.
Develop and implement robust testing strategies and governance standards in partnership with HR, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure consistency, reusability, and quality across testing cycles.
Create and maintain detailed test documentation including test plans, test cases, scripts, and traceability matrices to ensure coverage from requirements through execution.
Manage defect logging, triage, and resolution processes using tools such as JIRA, and collaborate with IT, consultants, HR and applicable stakeholders to resolve issues.
Coordinate and execute various test phases including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and regression testing for UKG and Workday HCM modules (e.g., Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Recruiting, Absence).
Facilitate test data preparation and work with HR Tech and IT to manage test environments for each test phase.
Collaborate with IT on security testing, particularly around sensitive team member data and user permissions.
Collaborate closely with HR, PMO, IT, and cross-functional teams to gather, define, and document business requirements for HCM enhancements, releases, and system changes.
Drive successful execution of major HCM releases by designing, coordinating, and performing thorough regression testing.
Analyze trends and patterns in HCM data to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and workforce planning.
Recommend enhancements to testing frameworks, tools, and practices to ensure ongoing quality and efficiency.
Develop and document process workflows related to HR technology functions, including foundational configuration and setup in Workday.
Ensure all HCM processes and configurations remain compliant with applicable legal and regulatory standards.
Partner with all HR teams, PMO and IT/Infosec for the development of the business continuity and disaster recovery plans for all HCM systems.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
1+ years of Workday HR end-user experience
1+ years of business requirements documentation, analysis and testing experience
Strong foundational understanding of HR best practices and key concepts, with the ability to mentor and guide less experienced HR professionals
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with data privacy and security protocols
Ability to work well and communicate (both written and verbally) with team members at all levels throughout the organization
Precision in reviewing test cases, validating data accuracy, and spotting inconsistencies in system configuration or outputs
Comfortable working with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, SuccessFactors), APIs, and basic system integrations
Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize
Desired:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field (equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree)
3+ years of professional experience in HCM systems with a strong understanding of business requirements and testing processes
Experience with issue tracking in Jira
Ability to interpret complex HR system data and workflows to identify issues, patterns, and opportunities for improvement
Skilled in identifying root causes of system or data issues and proposing practical solutions
