Why Casca?
Casca is building AGI for banking. We’re replacing decades-old legacy systems with AI-native technology that automates 90% of the manual work humans once had to do.
As our Head of Engineering, you’ll set the technical standard that turns that vision into reality—designing enterprise-grade processes, mentoring a high-potential team, and shipping AI-powered products that turn months-long loan workflows into decisions made in minutes. Join us to lead the engineering charge that makes AGI for banking real.
What you’ll do:
Institute world-class engineering processes: Establish rigorous SDLC practices—code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure development standards—ensuring enterprise reliability.
Drive execution & delivery: Own project planning, resource allocation, and release cadence; balance rapid iteration with uncompromising quality in a high-growth environment.
Set technical direction & architecture: Define and evolve the platform roadmap, system design, and AI strategy to meet bank-grade scalability, security, and compliance.
Build and scale a high-performing team: Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent; implement clear career paths; and foster a culture of accountability, speed, and craftsmanship.
Collaborate across the business: Partner with Product, Sales, and Customer Success to translate customer needs into scalable solutions; represent engineering in customer, regulator, and board conversations.
Champion continuous innovation: Introduce emerging AI/ML techniques, developer-experience tools, and operational best practices that raise the bar for velocity and product excellence.
What you’ll bring:
Has led engineering at scale in high-growth, AI/ML, infrastructure, or complex-systems environments, ideally serving enterprise customers.
Builds teams and knows how to structure orgs for clarity, ownership, and rapid decision-making.
Is fluent with AI/ML systems—comfortable guiding architecture and product trade-offs for applied AI in production.

As an early-stage company building at the frontier of AI, we work with high intensity and commitment. While schedules can vary by role/team, many weeks will demand extra focus, flexibility and time particularly during major launches and high impact sprints. We're seeking those who are aligned to and able to commit to that expectation which includes 5 days per week in our San Francisco Office.
