Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring the highest quality of patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as experience in both administrative and clinical tasks within various medical settings such as urgent care, internal medicine, and hospital medicine.
Duties
- Measure and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking medical histories and documenting current medications.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with medical regulations.
- Provide medical administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling insurance documentation.
- Educate patients on treatment plans and follow-up care instructions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Experience
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Previous experience in urgent care or internal medicine is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and systems related to inpatient care.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous.
