About the position...
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the operation of heavy equipment for various tasks and projects related to the company’s Construction Division.
- Assist with daily excavation tasks including, but not limited to trenching, backfilling/tamping, and minor grading while adhering to TCC phase specifications and safety policies.
- Safely operates all assigned equipment proficiently without supervision.
- Ensure proper installation and maintenance of E&S control measures.
- Operate company owned vehicles, material handlers, scissor lifts, rental equipment, towing trailers, and compressors.
- Responsible for organizing and maintaining site storage trailers, equipment, and storage yards.
- Assists with cleaning up each job site as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring property maintenance and care of machinery and equipment is scheduled and executed as required.
- Assist other team members as needed by shoveling trenches, light utility work, and removing hazards on job site.
- Perform manual labor tasks as needed and directed.
- Assists with snow removal as needed on TCC sites and property.
What we are looking for from you...
- Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Minimum of 3 years operating heavy equipment is required
- Must be able to operate the following pieces of equipment: Skid Loader, Mini & Full Size Excavator, Backhoe, Rollers, Track Loader
- Ability to work from construction specifications and blueprints is required.
- Ability to utilize GPS system efficiently within assigned equipment.
- Safety Oriented - OSHA Certification is not required but needs to be completed within 1 year of employment
- Ability to complete construction work, including but not limited to digging, lifting, climbing ladders, and entering trench excavations
- Must have experience with installing pipe, water lines, sewer lines, and dry utilities and be capable of supervising and testing such work
- HS Diploma or GED is highly preferred but not required
