Your Responsibilities
- Equipment operators may perform any combination of duties on construction projects, usually working in utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another where demands require.
- Perform set up work on the equipment and the job site prior to the operation of the machine. Greases, oils, and performs minor repairs on equipment.
- Able to make sound judgments and decisions, change tasks often, responsible for various duties and completing precise work.
- Able and willing to climb down from the machine and help on the ground doing prep work and site work including pipe laying and utility work.
- Must have a basic understanding of reading blueprints.
- Must have a basic understanding of lasers and elevations.
- Must have the ability and knowledge to safely operate various kinds of heavy equipment.
- Work with construction crews operating heavy machinery such as large and small dozers, large and small excavators, backhoes, graders, front-end loaders, and forklifts.
- Utilizes lasers and basic elevation tools to achieve precise grading and trenching results. Experience with Trimble grade control beneficial.
Your Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years directly working in Civil Construction, operating multiple pieces of Heavy Equipment (e.g., excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, etc.)
- Strong understanding of site grading, excavation, trenching, and backfilling operations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and grade stakes.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required, depending on equipment type).
