Job Objective:
The Field Service Technician diagnoses and performs standard mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, and assembles equipment for its customers in a field environment, as well as occasionally on-site, as needed.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Travel to customer locations as assigned for job functions
Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and locate mechanical deficiencies on Heavy or Lite Equipment as assigned by the Service Manager
Proper use of diagnostic equipment
Perform minor and complex repairs including identifying major powertrain overhaul needs
Locate and prepare cost analysis for required parts and/or services as needed
Repair and/or replace all components of diesel engines, hydraulic, air conditioning, electrical, and suspension systems, drive trains, steering, braking, material handling, operator comfort systems, and other functions as necessary to bring the machine up to operating status.
Read, analyze, and interpret technical information from schematics, technical manuals, drawings and procedures, and governmental regulations
Perform welding and brazing, fabricate, and modify parts, equipment, miscellaneous structures, and attachments.
Communicate job progress to Service Manager regarding special parts orders, shortages, and malfunctions
Prepare and complete all job-related documents, including but not limited to warranty information and time sheets in a legible, accurate, and timely manner
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of products, technology, and models through continued educational opportunities, and by reading technical and regulatory publications
Maintain all company equipment, tools, and shop vehicles in a good, clean, and working order, including any necessary servicing
Assist in quality control and assurances pursuant to company standards
Assist in maintaining cleanliness, neatness, and safety of personal workspace, building, and lot
Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company safety program at all times
Contribute to building excellent customer, vendor, company, and fellow employee relationships
Maintain standards as presented in the Employee Handbook
Requirements
Work Environment:
In this position, the employee will need to maneuver between moving mechanical parts, which will often include inclement weather conditions, and will be frequently exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and a moderate noise level.

Ability to operate forklift

Ability to move about the grounds for various tasks
Ability to operate a commercial class vehicle including proper licensing and MVR
Ability to lift 20 lbs, regularly, and 50 lbs, frequently
Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs with assistive devices
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, twist and stoop, as well as reaching below and overhead to perform necessary assessments and repairs
Utilization of appropriate protective or safety equipment
Ability to operate equipment or other powered devices as necessary
