The Hematology/Oncology Clinical Nurse Educator will work as part of a collaborative educator team to support Hematology/Oncology/Stem Cell Transplant programs and oversee professional development and learning of the floor nursing and clinical assistant (CA) staff. The Nurse Educator supports learners in the practice setting to facilitate continuous development which is aligned with the goals of Nursing and Patient Care Operations through education, orientation/onboarding, competency, and role transition activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the unit leadership team to advance the practice of nursing, the professional development of nurses and clinical assistants.
- Participates in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees, and special projects.
- Serve as a nursing professional development expert in the roles of educator, facilitator, change agent, leader, and researcher.
- Support the development of staff nurses through coaching, mentoring, and career development services to achieve excellence in the delivery of evidenced-based nursing practice.
- Develop, plan, implement and evaluate an ongoing program of professional development including clinical orientation, in-service, mandatory and continuing education for assigned staff which is congruent with the goals of Professional Development Council, the practice setting, CEI and the department of Nursing Patient Care Operations.
- Assist in the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based practice initiatives and contribute to the dissemination of clinical inquiry outcomes.
- Contribute to a professional nursing environment to meet the needs of the diverse unit and global needs of the Boston Children’s Hospital system.
- Provide leadership and expertise through the processes of intra- and inter-professional collaborative partnerships, consultation, facilitation and education to work toward goals that are consistent with the needs of the assigned practice setting.

- Demonstrate proficiency and comfort with technology.
- Demonstrate skills in education and evidence-based practice tools and techniques.
- 30-hour/week, on-site
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- MSN or enrollment in MSN program strongly preferred
Experience:
- Advanced knowledge, skills and experience in collaboration, evidence-based practice, professional development, and clinical inquiry.
- Minimum of five years' experience in clinical nursing practice
- Specialty certification
- Experience in educational or professional nursing initiatives
- Demonstrated leadership experience
Licensure/ Certifications:
- Massachusetts RN Licensure
