High School Computer Science Teacher
Position Summary:
Union Day School is seeking an innovative and knowledgeable Upper School Computer Science Teacher. The ideal candidate will provide engaging instruction in computer science fundamentals, including programming, computational thinking, and digital literacy, while preparing students to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver standards-aligned lessons in computer science to Upper School students.
- Introduce students to programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and ethical technology use in the classroom.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student population, including students with IEPs and 504 plans.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Integrate technology into daily instruction and support students in project-based learning experiences.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, staff meetings, professional development, and extracurricular opportunities as appropriate.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
- North Carolina teaching license or eligibility for licensure in Computer Science or related subject area. Knowledge of core programming principles and current technology applications in education.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching computer science or STEM courses at the secondary level.
- Familiarity with coding platforms, cybersecurity, data analysis, and/or robotics.
- International Baccalaureate (MYP or DP) experience

Compensation:
- Based upon experience, degree/certification, NC State Salary Guide and the Union County Licensed Teacher Supplement.
