JOB PURPOSE
Home & Community Services Director is responsible for leading and managing residential services, on- and off-site community programs, and personal care assistance. This role ensures quality service delivery, effective team performance, and operational compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements. The Director plays a strategic role in program development, staff training, data integrity, and fiscal oversight, aligning efforts with the organization’s mission and values.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership & Strategy
- Provide visionary leadership to program managers and departmental staff.
- Serve as a core member of the leadership team to support strategic initiatives.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Operations & Compliance
- Oversee day-to-day operations including budgets, resources, and staffing.
- Ensure adherence to CARF and Department of Mental Health standards.
- Implement Lean management principles to optimize efficiency.
- Maintain program documentation, service delivery protocols, and billing accuracy.
- Supervision & Staff Development
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff and managers.
- Support and monitor staff performance through coaching and regular feedback.
- Coordinate with HR to execute staff training plans and career development.
- Communication & Collaboration
- Serve as a professional liaison with families, community partners, and state representatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the organization’s professional image.
- Foster interdisciplinary teamwork across all levels of the agency.
Safety & Quality Assurance
- Identify and address safety concerns promptly.
- Uphold safety protocols and ensure a healthy work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s/Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in human services or related field.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably in a Program Operations.
- Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning and execution abilities.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry best practices.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and any subsequent background check after employment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E chauffeur’s license within 14 days of hire.

- Capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
