Job Summary
In this position, you will be responsible for caring for our Hospice patients in the Inpatient Unit settings. As the Hospice Aide (CNA) you will give personal care under the supervision of the RN. Actively support and promote the philosophy and mission statement.
Our Hospice Aides:
(duties include, but are not limited to)
- Demonstrate knowledge of the hospice philosophy.
- The Hospice Aide is responsible for attending to the personal care needs of the terminally ill patients under Big Bend Hospice care.
- The Hospice Aide works under the direct supervision of the Hospice Registered Nurse.
- The Hospice Aide follows the direction of the care plan.
- Document timely and appropriately.
- Participate in end-of-life care for the patient and family.
- Inform RN of any changes in the condition.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must have an active Florida Certified Nursing Aide certificate.
- BLS Required
- Must maintain active Florida Driver's License
- Hospice, Home Health experience preferred
- Compassionate with sound judgment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and medical software systems
- Ability to handle stress and long shifts
