Job Summary:
The Host/Door Person at the Maplewood Lounge is responsible for welcoming guests, managing a waitlist, checking IDs, maintaining a safe and inclusive atmosphere, and supporting the front-of-house team with smooth lounge operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet all guests warmly as they arrive
- Check IDs to ensure all patrons meet age requirements
- Communicate wait times clearly and accurately
- Monitor lounge capacity and assist with crowd control when needed
- Collaborate with bartenders, servers, and barbacks to create a seamless guest experience
- Help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all guests and staff
- Support outdoor seating operations
- Stay informed about current beer, spirit, cocktail, and food offerings
- Manage venue capacity by creating and updating an accurate waiting list during peak hours.
- Clearly explain our ordering and seating system to ensure a smooth guest experience.
- Maintain ongoing front-of-house cleanliness and organization by bussing tables, wiping down surfaces & windows during downtime, and resetting seating areas as needed.
- Monitor and manage the overall flow of the front-of-house, working closely with bar staff and kitchen to ensure efficient operations and a welcoming environment.
Qualifications:
- Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor
- Must be 21+
- Prior hospitality or customer service experience preferred
- Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure
- Strong communication and situational awareness skills
- Ability to lift 50lbs and to transport/maneuver 170lbs Kegs.
- Available evenings and weekends
