Position Overview:
We are looking for a Human Resources Administrator to support our HR department with daily operations, hiring, and employee relations. This role is ideal for someone who is seeking a more independent position than an HR Assistant but may not yet have the experience of working as an HR Generalist. The HR Administrator will assist with recruiting, onboarding, record-keeping, clerical support of compliance, and employee communication to help ensure smooth HR processes. The position will collaborate with others but self-manage much of their workload.
Position is paid hourly based on experience.
Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM (times are flexible depending on employee's preferred start / end times)
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for recruitment efforts including posting job ads, screening resumes, conducting phone screens, and coordinating interviews. Volume of hiring fluctuates throughout the year.
- Support employee onboarding and coordinate orientation processes.
- Assist with processing weekly payroll for hourly employees.
- Maintain employee records with accuracy and confidentiality, including tracking attendance.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures while staying organized with multiple policy sets.
- Act as a liaison between operations management and employees to facilitate clear and respectful communication, including delivering sensitive information such as terminations with professionalism and empathy.
- Work with managers to advise and assist on personnel issues, supporting them through employee relations issues.
- Provide support to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
- Prepare HR reports and status updates at monthly intervals.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience demonstrating a basic knowledge of HR principles preferred (such as working as an HR Assistant).
- 1-3 years experience working in an office environment preferred.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently and able to self-manage workload
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
