Responsibilities:
- Assist with insurance reporting and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of all claims
- Conduct weekly follow-up calls with insurance companies to monitor the status of open claims
- Support accident and incident investigations by collecting relevant information including photos, driver statements, and incident reports.
- Accurately enter accident and incident data into the McLeod system in a timely manner
- Maintain organized and accessible safety records for audits and regulatory reviews
- Monitor and update driver qualification files, logs, and compliance data in McLeod and other systems as required
- Perform regular check-in calls with drivers involved in safety-related incidents or ongoing claims
- Collaborate with Safety and Operations teams to ensure compliance with internal safety procedures and protocols
- Work closely with Safety Managers to ensure ongoing adherence to local, state, and federal transportation safety regulations
- Assist in coordinating safety training sessions, maintaining attendance records, and distributing training materials
- Generate regular reports on safety trends, claim status, and compliance issues for internal use
- Identify and report recurring safety issues to aid in the development of preventive strategies
- Communicate safety protocols clearly to prevent incidents, accidents, and injuries
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the transportation safety and compliance team
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Prior experience in transportation or logistics safety preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills required
- Attention to detail and multi-tasking a must
- Able to prioritize, set goals, and accomplish responsibilities with limited supervision
- Dependable, reliable and self-motivated
- Strong work ethic
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work with a variety of products
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
- Ability to climb on and off equipment, bend, kneel, reach, stand and squat
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and inclement weather
- The employee may be subject to strenuous physical activity in a high stress environment when an emergency arises
