Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Safety and Assistant to support the HR department with administrative tasks and help execute the organization’s employee health and safety initiatives. This dual-role position is ideal for someone who is passionate about people, process improvement, and creating a safe, compliant, and supportive workplace.
Responsibilities
Human Resources (Approx. 60%)
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes
- Maintain accurate employee records (digital and physical) in HRIS system
- Coordinate training sessions, benefits enrollment, and performance reviews
- Track employee training completion and maintain training programs
- Conduct new hire orientation and related paperwork during the onboarding process
- Respond to internal HR-related inquiries with confidentiality and professionalism
- Support payroll processing and timekeeping data audits as needed
- Prepare reports, memos, and documentation as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of all employee record keeping
- Uphold and enforce HR policies and procedures
- Coordinate and help execute company events and activities
- Other HR duties as assigned
Safety (Approx. 40%)
- Conduct routine workplace inspections to ensure safety compliance
- Maintain OSHA records and work injury incident logs
- Assist with incident investigations
- Coordinate emergency preparedness efforts, drills, and safety meetings
- Serve as a liaison with 3rd party regulatory agencies and support audits or inspections
- other Safety duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Safety Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years in HR support role
- Experience in company safety programs preferred
- Strong understanding of HR policies and basic employment law
- Familiarity with Cal/OSHA regulations and safety practices
- High attention to detail and organization
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS or EHS software a plus
