We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Air Import Specialist to join our logistics team. In this role, you will manage and coordinate all aspects of air import operations, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and in compliance with regulations and company policies.
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Pay Rate: $27hr
Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinate air import shipments with customers, vendors, shippers, truckers, and airlines.
· Execute shipments in accordance with all required documentation, while maintaining strong knowledge of international commercial Terms.
· Arrange and track inland transportation to ensure timely delivery to final destinations.
· Convert and verify shipment weight and volume; calculate applicable rates and price conversions.
· Generate accurate billing in a timely manner.
· Ensure compliance with audits and adhere to all corporate policies and procedures.
· Support local sales teams by responding promptly to email inquiries and rate requests.
· Maintain consistent communication with customers, carriers, vendors, and internal offices.
· Perform additional duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of 2 years' experience in air import logistics preferred.
· Solid understanding of contracts with the ability to interpret terms effectively.
· Proven ability to negotiate rates with airlines and trucking companies.
· Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) experience is a plus.
· Strong customer service mindset with a focus on maximizing profitability.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
· Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
· Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
