The Multicultural Learning Center (MLC) is a K-8 dual immersion (Spanish/English) public charter school that brings together a diverse community of learners where cultural and individual differences are the building blocks of academic, social, and intrapersonal success.
MLC is looking for elementary and middle school educators with a passion for bilingual education and social justice. We are a school focused on the development of biliterate and globally and social-emotionally competent scholars. Candidates will demonstrate experience in constructivist teaching methodology, project-based learning, restorative behavior practices and classroom management, collaboration with others, social-emotional learning, and language acquisition.

Job Description
General Classroom Support - Middle School
- Assist general education and resource teachers in implementing differentiated learning experiences within an inclusive environment to support all students.
- Deliver instruction using various modalities (e.g., small group, learning centers, co-teaching) to promote academic growth.
- Support students in meeting academic, social-emotional, and behavioral goals, and reinforce their progress through consistent strategies.
- Reinforce instruction using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, such as scaffolding, guided practice, and student choice.
- Monitor student academic progress through regular data collection and documentation.
- Support students in accessing and utilizing educational tools, resources, and adaptive equipment as needed to enhance learning.
- Support students in using educational tools, resources, and adaptive equipment as needed.
- Participate in professional development opportunities (e.g., grade-level planning, school-wide trainings, staff development) in support of MLC’s inclusive education model and to assist instructional staff.
- Proactively respond to student needs and situations with a sense of urgency, care, and accountability.
- Uphold and model school-wide behavior standards (caring, safety, responsibility, respect, and tolerance) while supervising students.
- Promote the development of students’ social-emotional competencies through positive engagement and guidance.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and specialists using strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrate openness to feedback, reflection, and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.
Specialized Support
- Assist the Resource Team in compiling information on students' present levels of performance (PLP) and collaborate in developing goals for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Input IEP information into the Welligent system under the supervision of the lead Resource Teacher.
- Conduct academic assessments, classroom observations, and assist in collecting data for academic reports under the guidance of the lead Resource Teacher.
Pay level is determined by 1) New to field 2) Specialized training, 3) Apprentice with BA and concurrent enrollment in credential or certification program: $20 - $35
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA) preferred, or currently enrolled as a junior or senior university student, and/or equivalent schooling and experience working with students in an educational setting.
- Experience working with and motivating groups of children while maintaining school standards.
- A desire to serve children.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Employment contingent upon clearance of Live Scan and TB test results
