Position Overview:
Orchard Place is seeking a dynamic and strategic Individual & Planned Giving Director to strengthen and grow our donor engagement and legacy giving efforts. This key member of our Foundation team will manage a portfolio of donors, lead our planned giving program, and design strategies to cultivate lasting relationships that sustain our mission of supporting the mental and behavioral health needs of children and families. Orchard Place is seeking a dynamic and strategic Individual & Planned Giving Director to strengthen and grow our donor engagement and legacy giving efforts. This key member of our Foundation team will manage a portfolio of donors, lead our planned giving program, and design strategies to cultivate lasting relationships that sustain our mission of supporting the mental and behavioral health needs of children and families. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Orchard Place’s planned giving program, identifying and cultivating legacy donors.
- Manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, ensuring meaningful cultivation and stewardship.
- Design and implement donor lifecycle strategies in partnership with the VP, Orchard Place Foundation.
- Analyze giving trends and donor data to inform strategy and improve retention.
- Collaborate with communications and marketing teams to craft compelling donor materials.
- Represent Orchard Place at donor and community events.
- Maintain accurate records in Raiser’s Edge and generate regular giving reports.
- Contribute to overall Foundation strategy and fundraising goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, or related field required; Master’s degree or advanced certification (CFRE, CAP) preferred.
- 5–7 years of progressive fundraising experience, with a focus on individual and planned giving.
- Proven success in major gift and legacy gift cultivation and solicitation.
- Experience managing donor portfolios and engagement strategies.
- Strong collaboration skills, especially with marketing/communications teams.
- Proficiency with donor databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce NPSP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience training or supporting board members and staff in donor engagement is a plus.
