Description
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Tasks
With the 1+2 Industrial Maintenance Training Program you can get paid while learning a trade. Students in the program complete a 12 months Industrial maintenance training program; working ½ day at the Council Bluffs Case Ready facility and attending school ½ day at Metro Community College (MCC). The employee commits to working full-time in the maintenance department at the Council Bluffs Case Ready facility for a minimum period of two (2) continuous year upon successful completion of the program. Successful candidate must be willing to work any shift upon completion of the training program; must be able to work holidays, weekends, and nights.
Applicants will be considered for any industrial maintenance opening on any shift; day, evening or overnight. Applicant must be willing to work overtime and weekends if required. Industrial Maintenance positions are responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of equipment to maintain continuous production. Applicant must be able to set up, adjust and break down production line machinery. Must be able to complete computerized training programs and use Tyson SAP software to document completion details of preventative maintenance routines as scheduled by the supervisor. Must be able to read and write where required. Must be able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis and be able to stand for up to 12 hours. Applicant must be willing to complete all required training for the job.
Requirements
Applicant must have high school diploma or equivalent. Prior mechanical training or experience considered a plus.
Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
