Immanuel Lutheran Day School (ILDS) is a ministry of Immanuel Lutheran Church serving our congregation and community. Position Summary
The Infant/Toddler Teacher provides loving, developmentally appropriate care and education for children ages 6 weeks to 24 months. Teachers ensure a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment while building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. This position requires adherence to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) Minimum Standards, ILDS policies, and Christian values.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, responsive care to infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and engaging in age-appropriate play and learning activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that supports developmental milestones.
- Plan and implement daily routines and activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Communicate daily with parents regarding their child’s care, routines, and developmental progress.
- Ensure compliance with Texas Child Care Licensing regulations and ILDS policies, including health, safety, and mandated reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate records such as attendance, diapering, feeding logs, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with co-teachers and staff to ensure consistent, high-quality care and supervision.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development training, and ILDS events as required.
- Model Christian values, kindness, and respect in all interactions with children, families, and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) or college coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Prior experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed child care setting strongly preferred.
- Ability to meet all Texas DFPS background check and health requirements.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Strong communication, patience, and nurturing skills.

Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time or part-time positions available.
- Hours of position 9am to 6pm or 1pm to 6pm
- Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications, plus benefits package for eligible employees.
