The Organization

The City of Coronado is accepting applications for the position of
Information Technology Applications Manager

The Department of Administrative Services is responsible for the divisions of Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology. The employees in the department support and reinforce City-wide operations with the goal of developing its most valuable resources - its people. This goal is jointly accomplished through the preservation of the City's financial resources; the commitment to attract and retain a skilled workforce; and the effective management of the City's information systems.

The Position

The City of Coronado is seeking an experienced and well-rounded IT professional who thrives in a collaborative, service-driven environment. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience managing and supporting enterprise and departmental applications, ideally within a government agency or a similarly structured organization. The Information Technology Application Manager should have a strong understanding of how business systems and databases support public services and broader organizational goals.

We’re seeking an individual with a strong background in application administration, system integration, and database management, who can work effectively across multiple departments. The successful candidate will be comfortable analyzing complex systems, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing practical solutions that improve operations and service delivery.

The role also requires hands-on experience with system upgrades and rollouts, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing contracts and budgets tied to applications and databases. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, as this position will supervise staff, provide technical direction, and lead cross-functional projects across the City.
