Infrastructure / Platform Engineer
Job description
We are looking for an Infrastructure / Platform Engineer to join our team in building, operating and continuously improving modern enterprise platforms for cloud-native applications.
This is a hands-on role covering infrastructure, automation, cloud-native platforms, identity and access management, and observability.
You will work closely with infrastructure, security, application development and operations teams to deliver reliable, secure and automated platform services.
Responsibilities
- Build, operate and improve enterprise infrastructure and application platforms.
- Support virtualisation, software-defined networking, container and Platform-as-a-Service environments.
- Automate infrastructure and platform provisioning using Infrastructure as Code, scripting, CI/CD and GitOps practices.
- Support identity and access management integrations using LDAP, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and SAML.
- Implement and support monitoring, logging, metrics and distributed tracing.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure, networking, operating systems, platforms and applications.
- Support platform upgrades, lifecycle management, capacity planning and reliability improvements.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application and operations teams on platform design and delivery.
- Participate in 24x7 support and on-call activities.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Computing, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent practical experience.
- Good understanding of infrastructure, networking, security and application concepts.
- Comfortable working with Linux systems and troubleshooting production issues.
- Understanding of container platforms, Kubernetes or Platform-as-a-Service technologies.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code and declarative infrastructure management.
- Experience or familiarity with CI/CD, Git, GitOps and automation tools.
- Familiarity with identity and access management concepts and protocols such as LDAP, OAuth, OIDC and SAML.
- Understanding of observability concepts including logs, metrics, traces and OpenTelemetry.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong interest in automation, reliability and continuous improvement.

- Operating Systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, Windows Server
- Observability: OpenTelemetry, logging, analytics and infrastructure monitoring tools
- Automation & Engineering: Azure DevOps, Concourse, Argo CD, Git, Terraform, Ansible, Bash and Python
You are not expected to be an expert in every technology listed above. We are looking for engineers with strong technical fundamentals, hands-on problem-solving ability and a willingness to learn across multiple technology domains.
