Position Title:
Initiatives and Programming Manager
Department and Reports to:
Director of Community Engagement
Summary of Position:
The Initiatives & Programming Manager, reporting to the Director of Community Engagement, will
lead and support the development and dissemination of project deliverables, provide project
management, logistical, and administrative support to multiple project-specific working groups,
update project plans and project management tools, coordinate member convening events, and
communicate diplomatically across stakeholders.
Duties Include:
• Lead or assist in human-centered design projects, including discovery sprints, user interviews,
and developing user journey maps.
- Conduct qualitative research, analyze data, and develop insights to inform service design and
policy decisions.
- Ideate potential solutions, prototype and test concepts, and iterate based on feedback.
- Collaboration & Workshops: Plan and execute co-creation workshops with stakeholders to
develop and refine solutions.
- Develop user journey maps, service design blueprints, and design frameworks to guide service
delivery innovations.
- Evaluate existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements, often
applying design thinking methodologies.
- Project Management: Manage projects related to service delivery improvements, operational
efficiency, and cross-agency collaboration.
- Present research findings, reports, summaries, and recommendations to various stakeholders,
including government leaders and community members.
- Engage and collaborate with community organizations to integrate public feedback and ensure
resident needs are central to service delivery.
Position Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree with 2+years progressive experience or A High School Diploma
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with proficiency with
- Experience in human-centered design, service design, or participatory design.
