JOB SUMMARY
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
- Conducts and performs construction project inspections for subdivision construction, county road special projects, road bond projects and utility relocations
- Performs and documents public and occupational safety inspections and investigations including collection of data, case investigation and documentation
- Conducts various on-site visits to conduct quality control on work being performed in compliance with the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan
- Samples asphalt and aggregates according to TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation) testing specifications
- Monitors third party sampling and collects data and analysis on compliance measures
- Assists with public information requests and document management
- Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
- Performs special duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and occasional lifting/carrying
- Position involves safely operating a motor vehicle
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
- Indoor and outdoor work in all environments, including inclement weather
- Travel between work sites, is required
- Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, bacteria, fungus, and high noise levels
IRREGULAR HOURS
- Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
- May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency
- Serves as on-call basis as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of related experience in a construction capacity
- Knowledge of construction materials, including construction materials sampling and testing
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and construction material tracking applications
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- NA
Required within thirty (30) days of employment
- Valid Texas driver’s license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in a related field
- One (1) year of experience in construction roadway including knowledge of compliance practice and procedures
- ACI (American Concrete Institution) Concrete Materials Certification
- Level 1 B Asphalt Inspection License
- Stormwater One Training Certification
