Treehouse Learning & Development specializes in literacy instruction but we also will tutor students in other subjects, such as math, science and social studies.
We also support learners in the area of executive functioning skills, such as organization, study skills, managing anxiety in school settings and more!
An Instructional Specialist, is responsible for providing TLD students with individualized assistance, tutoring, in a 1 on 1 or small group setting.
You would work in-person in the Chicagoland Area and virtually, if available.
What we look for in an Instructional Specialist:
- You are a currently certified teacher or have held a teaching certification in the past.
- You are comfortable working with students who might be struggling or one to two grade levels behind.
- You have excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable personality.
- You have the ability to personalize lessons for each student.
- Bonus: Previous training and experience in Wilson Reading System.
Job Requirements:
- Study and deliver evidence-driven academic instruction for students (School-aged).
- Conduct assessments of current student skills to determine academic needs (using interviews, record reviews, curriculum-based assessments, etc.).
- Monitor student progress and communicate progress to clients and parents (and school if requested by parents).
- Collaborate with other tutors about specific cases to offer and receive support
