At this level candidate will be expected to assist with insurance billing for our services to commercial payers and Medicaid. This position will report directly to the Insurance Director. In this role, a candidate must:
- Have a thorough understanding of claims filing process and terminology when working with commercial payers and Medicaid.
- Conduct weekly eligibility checks for all assigned Medicaid clients, documenting and communicating any changes to all parties involved.
- Collect data from session notes documentation and convert to claims data for billing. Submit claims in an efficient and timely manner using comprehensive billing software.
- Provide Coordination of Benefits, submitting claims to secondary carriers as appropriate.
- Provide appropriate follow-up on submitted claims. This may include troubleshooting issues, phone calls to carriers and providing information necessary to ensure proper claim processing.
- Participate in any claim escalation, recoupments and overpayments to ensure proper handling of accounts. Participate in chart reviews and audit processes as required.
- Assist with receipt and posting of insurance and client payments to EMR system as required.
- Assist with clinical credentialing as directed by supervisor.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance through strict adherence to internal procedures and record-keeping methodologies. Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
