Overview
ComputerEze Network Specialists, a growing MSP based in Auburn, CA, is seeking an experienced and motivated Help Desk Technician to join our support team. This role provides front-line support to small business clients across a variety of technologies—desktop, server, network, and VoIP systems. You’ll troubleshoot a wide range of technical issues both remotely and onsite and play a vital role in maintaining smooth day-to-day IT operations for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to business clients via phone, remote session, or onsite visit
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Set up and configure new users on workstations and networks
- Manage and document support tickets using an online help desk system
- Perform basic network maintenance, diagnostics, and routine health checks
- Assist with Active Directory user account management (e.g., password resets, access control)
- Configure and support VoIP phone systems and equipment
- Travel to client locations to address desktop and server issues as needed
- Organize and maintain IT workspace, tools, and inventory
- Occasionally assist with online product listings and office tasks as assigned
Skills & Experience
- Prior experience in a help desk or technical support role
- Strong knowledge of Windows desktop OS (Windows 7 and up): install, configure, and maintain
- Proficiency with Microsoft Server OS (all versions)
- Experience with Office 365 administration and support
- Understanding of basic networking concepts, including:
- IP addressing and subnetting
- DHCP, DNS, NAT
- Site-to-site and client VPNs
- Familiarity with routers/firewalls (Synology, MikroTik, EdgeRouter experience a plus)
- Working knowledge of virtualization platforms (Hyper-V and/or VMware)
- Backup system administration experience (Altaro a plus)
- Experience with VoIP system deployment and support
- Excellent communication, customer service, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to stay organized, manage time efficiently, and adapt in a fast-paced MSP environment
- A sense of humor and a positive, professional attitude
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with Linux-based systems
- Experience creating or managing product listings on e-commerce platforms
