Position Summary:
The Applications Trainer at the American Indian College Fund plays a vital role in empowering staff and stakeholders through effective use of technology. This position is responsible for designing and delivering engaging training programs that enhance productivity, support digital literacy, and ensure smooth adoption of software tools across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in Microsoft Office 365, Windows operating systems, and IT service tools such as Zendesk Adobe, SharePoint, Survey Monkey, phone system, TEAMS, Zoom, Outlook, etc. along with excellent communication and organizational skills. This role requires a proactive educator who can simplify complex concepts, troubleshoot software issues, and support users with varying levels of technical proficiency. The Applications Trainer will also contribute to the College Fund’s mission by fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and tech-enabled environment that supports Native student success and organizational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for new and existing software applications.
Create user-friendly instructional materials, including manuals, guides, and e-learning content.
Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and performance data.
Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting assistance to users during and after training sessions.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on feedback and performance metrics.
Stay current with software updates, industry trends, and best practices in application training.
Collaborate with IT, HR, and department leaders to coordinate training schedules and support software rollouts.
Facilitate smooth transitions during software upgrades or new application implementations.
Provide basic and advanced technical support to end-users, addressing simple to complex issues and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems.
Install, update, and manage software applications, ensuring they are functional and up to date
Administer all user accounts on Active Directory, Azure Intune, Office 365, RingCentral, Adobe and 1Password.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field
Minimum three (3) years of experience in an IT Service Desk or technical support role
Skills:
Strong knowledge of common business technology systems: Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, basic Active Directory user and groups administration
Preferred Credentials and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field
Four (4) or more years of experience in an IT Service Desk or technical support role
Competencies:
Excellent documentation and note-taking skills
Excellent personal organization skills and ability to set deadlines, track progress, and meet deadlines
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team without direct supervision
