Job description
Salary: £40,000 - 73,000 per year
Requirements
- Good basic knowledge of Windows 11, Windows 10 and common business software.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 and user accounts.
- Ability to troubleshoot common hardware, software and network issues.
- Good communication skills and confidence helping users.
- Willingness to learn new systems and develop IT skills.
- Awareness of UK export control, health and safety, and environmental management requirements is desirable.
- Experience in the defence industry and with the UK MOD is desirable.
- Applicants consent to workforce screening, which may include Baseline Personnel Security checks, National Security Vetting, reference checks, verification of working rights and a security interview for preferred candidates.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line and basic second-line IT support, including handling password resets, account issues and basic access requests.
- Troubleshoot PCs, laptops, software, printers, peripherals and other IT equipment, and assist with basic network issues.
- Install and troubleshoot software, set up devices, and help users with Microsoft 365 and general IT issues.
- Escalate complex problems and complete other IT tasks requested by the Senior IT Engineer.
- Keep support tickets updated and follow issues through to resolution.
- Maintain IT records and documentation as needed.
- Follow IT procedures, security requirements and company policies.
- Assist users clearly and professionally.
- Support the IT team with day-to-day tasks, equipment setup and projects as required.
