Who are YOU?
You are an Entry Level Chemist with up to three years of laboratory experience, ready to support our U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Environmental Services Assistance Team contract.
What does your day/week look like?
- You will perform analytical tasks for environmental sample management and analysis of wet chemistry parameters, as well as management duties for other samples.
- You will perform hazardous waste management duties and assess the need for disposal of analyzed and unused samples.
- You will conduct chemical inventory updates as needed using applicable system (e.g., Vertere, LIMS).
- You will carry out property management duties, such as performing laboratory-wide property inventories and providing applicable information to update the R8LAB Property Inventory List in applicable systems (e.g., R8LAB Ideagen Quality Management System [IQM]).
- You will monitor temperatures of all refrigerators/freezers and record the information in applicable formats.
What do you need for this amazing opportunity?
- A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related science field
- Legal U.S. citizenship, with ability to obtain and maintain state and federal security clearances
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Good written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment; flexible and quickly adaptable to changing priorities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- A valid driver’s license and safe driving record
