About the role:
The Nuclear Company is seeking a highly motivated and aspiring Junior Mobile App Developer to join our growing software development team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to contribute to impactful applications in a critical and highly innovative industry.
The Junior Mobile App Developer will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of user-friendly and highly reliable mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms. Working under the guidance of senior developers, you will help build applications that support various operational needs within the nuclear energy industry, such as field data collection, maintenance checklists, real-time monitoring dashboards, and internal communication tools. This role requires a foundational understanding of mobile development principles, a passion for clean code, and an eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Mobile App Development:
- Assist in writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code for mobile applications on iOS and/or Android platforms.
- Implement user interfaces and user experiences based on design specifications.
- Contribute to the integration of mobile applications with backend services and APIs.
Testing & Quality Assurance:
- Perform unit testing and assist with integration and functional testing of mobile app features.
- Help identify, report, and fix bugs and performance issues.
- Support quality assurance activities to ensure application reliability and stability.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with senior mobile developers, UI/UX designers, backend engineers, and product managers to understand requirements and deliver features.
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues reported by users.
Documentation:
- Help create and maintain technical documentation for mobile application features and codebases.
Learning & Growth:
- Actively learn new mobile development technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
- Stay informed about mobile operating system updates and trends.
- Understand the importance of security, data integrity, and reliability in a highly regulated industry.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in mobile app development (including personal projects, academic projects, or internships).
- Foundational knowledge of mobile development concepts for iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java), or cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter).
- Basic understanding of API integration (RESTful APIs).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Eagerness to learn new programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to writing high-quality code.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with a specific mobile development framework (e.g., React Native, Flutter, Swift UI, Jetpack Compose).
- Experience with UI/UX principles for mobile applications.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles for mobile applications.
- Exposure to or interest in the nuclear energy industry, industrial operations, or other highly regulated environments.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $121,000 - $143,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
