Job Summary:
Mater Academy Davenport is seeking a passionate and experienced Math Instructional Coach to support our elementary middle school math teachers in elevating student success through data-driven, high-quality instruction. The ideal candidate is collaborative, reflective, and committed to supporting educators through coaching, modeling, and professional development.At Mater Academy Davenport, we are growing fast, but our focus remains clear: build strong, supportive systems that help teachers thrive—because when teachers grow, students soar.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional coaching and support to math teachers, including modeling lessons, observing instruction, and offering actionable feedback
- Lead data chats and support teachers in using formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and intervention
- Develop and facilitate professional development sessions focused on math content, differentiation, and instructional best practices
- Collaborate with teachers and leadership on lesson planning, standards alignment, and curriculum implementation
- Support teachers in building rigorous, engaging learning environments rooted in the Florida B.E.S.T. Standards for Mathematics
- Serve as a thought partner for innovation, problem-solving, and instructional improvement
- Stay current on evidence-based math strategies, tools, and programs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or Mathematics (Master’s preferred)
- Valid Florida teaching certification in Mathematics or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of successful classroom experience teaching math, preferably in grades 6–8
- Experience with coaching, mentoring, or leading PLCs preferred
- Strong understanding of Florida math standards, curriculum, and effective instructional practices
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Comfort analyzing data to support growth and inform decisions
