Job Purpose: The Kairos Inside Men’s Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for leading and implementing effective the Kairos Inside Program of Kairos Prison Ministry International, consistent with its mission and purpose, coordinating with the other Kairos programs for streamlined approach, ensuring efficient and effective training for all leaders of the program, and finding ways to grow the ministry through proper management and leadership. The main focus is this position is Kairos Inside Men, working closely with Kairos Inside Women, and coordinating with the Kairos Outside and Kairos Torch programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & EXPECTED OUTCOMES
1. Leadership and coordination of Kairos Inside program for men, along with other programs, ensuring appropriate maintenance of existing work and growth of existing and new states.
2. Serve as primary content expert in Kairos Inside men ministry issues, research and methodologies. Focus on relations with the Kairos Inside Men’s Advisory Councils and Leaders to address issues and to look for growth. Conduct an annual review/assessment of content to ensure ongoing relevancy in current prison ministry effectiveness.
3. Complete coordination of Kairos Inside for men and women leaders so same responses and direction are taking place as per the program manual. Coordination of trainers and training events. Proper division of duties to cover the Kairos Inside program and to enable compliance and growth of the program is necessary.
4. Implement expansion of existing programs and development of new programs or elements of the programs in alignment with CEO’s strategies and direction. Create project management plan to ensure delivery of new/expanded programs are delivered with excellence.
5. Working with Kairos Inside Women Coordinator to evaluate opportunities in Federal Prisons, private prisons, and other prisons where we do not serve or where we could return.
6. Responsible for engaging current and new volunteers and retaining top volunteer talent in leadership positions for Kairos Inside Program. Ensure continued development through ongoing trainings, developing teams of volunteer trainers, and provide feedback to volunteer teams on what is going well, areas needing improvement, and program effectiveness. Ensure volunteer teams are measured, evaluated, and strengthened on an ongoing basis. When volunteer(s) are out of alignment with Kairos program values/methodologies, address promptly and keep CEO and State Chair informed of any issues and steps being taken to resolve. This focus is at the holistic view for Kairos and not at a local or individual level for volunteer development.
7. Ensure program effectiveness and alignment of all program content, practices, and protocol. Review leaders reports and other information to enable discussions with the local teams to improve ways to manage the program. When non-compliance occurs, respond quickly to address/resolve and keep CEO informed.
8. Coordinate Kairos Inside virtual training, trainers, and scheduling.
9. Working with the Women’s Coordinator, ensure AKT trainers for Kairos Inside are found and trained to conduct these sessions. The two Kairos Inside Coordinators, together, develop and write training materials and Train the Trainers. Coordinate communication to AKT trainers.
10. Ensure effective communication across the organization and volunteers relative to Kairos Inside program changes and other relevant topics. Provide pertinent stories and testimonies for donor communications and annual reporting. Handle all correspondence pertaining to Kairos Inside for Women.
11. Ability to work with Department of Corrections at Federal, State, and local levels, always maintaining a level of professionalism while representing Kairos.
12. Ability to follow the policies, practices, and guidelines of the ministry in work approach, in working with others, and in providing direction for the ministry.
13. Communications including written and verbal formal tools (e-mail, newsletter, articles, etc.), program related committees, staff, volunteers, and others as needed.
14. Working with the CEO and/or other program coordinators to complete projects as needed.
15. Handling projects as assigned or needed to further the ministry.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
1. Work with CEO in identifying leaders, prospective donors, or others with particular interest in supporting or working with the Kairos programs. Provide program information and testimonies/stories as needed for recruitment or fundraising.
2. Trains, develops, and appraises volunteers effectively as necessary for Kairos programs. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with Kairos policies. Consults with CEO as appropriate.
3. Work with the volunteer leaders to address questions, concerns, and issues.
4. Keeps up to date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
5. Provide budget needs and manage Kairos Inside men’s program budget.
6. Personally represent, promote, and support Kairos Prison Ministry.
7. Create an environment of teamwork, accountability, and professionalism within the office team and volunteer groups.
8. Work in concert with the other Kairos programs and the coordinators to create efficiencies and effectiveness.
9. Ability to lead technology use and improved written documents for the ministry.
10. Ensure all program materials are updated for Kairos Inside, inclusive of women.
11. Help plan and coordinate the Annual Conference workshops.

QUALIFICATIONS
· BS/BA in Social Science or related field. Five years prison ministry experience preferred. Knowledge of volunteer management and effective people skills required. Excellent written and verbal skills required.
· Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software with ability to use all systems efficiently.
· Individual will possess strong leadership, organizing and analytical skills; strong customer-service orientation; excellent communication, and decision-making skills. He possesses the ability to work without organizational authority in a lateral direction across organizational boundaries to identify needs and to implement solutions that fulfill them. Position requires the ability to work independently and as a team player. Servant Leader approach.
· Ability to gain clearance to go into prisons around the country as needed.
· Strong Christian leader who has desire to work full time in ministry and serve with others. Full agreement with Kairos Statement of Faith, Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Code of Conduct. Conducts self in biblical manner.
· Some travel is required.
Environment and Conditions:
Office is located in a one-story office building near Orlando, Florida where staff is expected to be located. Job demands may require long periods of sitting; telephone work and/or computer work and travel, as well as interactions with other staff members and customers. Position requires occasional heavy lifting of boxes, up to 40 pounds. Filing in lateral and upright file cabinets is necessary. Domestic travel is required. International travel may be needed occasionally. Weekend work is required when in the ministry field.
